Dr Kimberly Hubinger - Clarity Psychology

Kimberly Hubinger, Psy.D.

Licensed Psychologist

Meet Dr. Kimberly Hubinger

As a Tampa native, I take pride in being able to bring my work, as a licensed psychologist, to the Tampa Bay area and help others better understand themselves. My background experience includes both group counseling and individual therapy to adults, older adults, children, and adolescents. My passion is in conducting psychological and neuropsychological screening assessments, with the ultimate goal of helping people better understand themselves!

My Approach

I use a collaborative approach with my clients, and believe that when we learn more about ourselves, we are then able to really grow. Value is placed on providing a safe, collaborative, non-judgemental atmosphere. My style is easy-going and genuine, and I strive to create a compassionate therapeutic environment for my clients. A safe environment is one of the keys to exploring therapeutic issues and being able to find the clarity we are all searching for.

When we learn more about ourselves, we are then able to really grow.

Education

I attended the University of South Florida, Tampa campus for my undergraduate studies. For grad school, I attended Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, where I earned my Masters of Science in Mental Health Counseling. I also earned a Masters of Arts in Clinical Psychology, as well as a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Florida School of Professional Psychology in Tampa, FL.

Experience

My pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship were both completed at Psychological and Neurological Services in Lakeland, FL, as part of the APA-accredited Centerstone Consortium. My focus was primarily on assessment, where I conducted psychological assessments in both forensic and clinical settings in order to rule out various diagnoses among children and adults. Through my internship training, I was able to discover my passion of pursuing psychological assessment and specialty therapy.

In total, I have over 7 years of experience working with clients, with a majority of my clinical experience being in private practice. While working in private practice, I have run groups varying from support to counseling. While working at an inpatient/outpatient community mental health center and hospital, I gained experience working with severe mental health disorders. My true passion consists of psychological assessments, and helping people better understand themselves!
